The Duolingo English Test is accepted by a growing number of universities and is taken online, which makes it a practical option for many applicants. It is adaptive: questions get harder or easier as you answer, so early accuracy carries more weight than it does on a fixed-form test.
Preparation covers every question type the test uses — read-and-complete, listen-and-type, the speaking and writing samples — and the timing pressure each one carries. Students practise under the same conditions as the real sitting, including the recorded interview and writing sample that institutions see alongside the score.
